Roxane Juhasz is a photographer and graphic designer from Germany with Hungarian paprika blood. In her artistic practice, she explores questions of hybrid identity, cultural belonging, and memory. Drawing from her experience of growing up between two cultures, she develops a photographic language that moves between the grotesque, nostalgia, and staged realities.
What began as a personal exploration of her own heritage gradually evolved into an investigation of broader social questions surrounding identity, cultural conditioning, and belonging. Her work is particularly interested in the surreal and contradictory moments that emerge where different cultural realities intersect. Through photography, she connects personal narratives with collective experiences, navigating the boundaries between documentation and fiction.
Alongside her independent artistic practice, she works in costume design for film. Her engagement with character development, visual storytelling, and the construction of reality directly informs her photographic work.
After receiving her Master's degree from Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest in 2021, she has been living and working in Berlin.
